Impact Investing and Entrepreneuring

Who we are ?

Cléry is an investment structure created at the end of 2022 by David Guinard and Robin Ucelli.

David and Robin are long-time partners and founded Photosol in 2008, which has become a leading producer of photovoltaic energy in Europe and the US. They sold their majority stake in Photosol in 2022.

As their complementarity has been one of the key factors in the success of Photosol, David and Robin have decided to continue their partnership on their new investments and entrepreneurial projects within Cléry.

A team of management and investment professionals joined them at Cléry to launch the adventure!

Cléry invests in impact projects that make sense for the planet and society.

Our Investment Thesis

Either through intermediaries or in direct contact with entrepreneurs, we engage in impact companies,

mainly connected to the ecological transition and adaptation to climate change in the broad sense

OUR INVESTING METHODS

INDIRECT INVESTING

Part of Cléry’s investments is directed towards asset portfolios managed by financial partners who have been accompanying David and Robin for several years: listed shares, dedicated funds defined according to Cléry’s criteria and objectives, investment fund shares, etc. This indirect approach diversifies risk, stabilises returns and ensures liquidity

DIRECT INVESTING

In a classic Private Equity mode, Cléry invests directly, or with partner investment funds, as a minority shareholder alongside the founding and management teams in companies with strong development potential, and where the expertise of its teams allows it to go beyond a simple financial investment and provide a real help to the management teams

Entrepreneurship

Given its entrepreneurial DNA, Cléry also has a vocation to initiate new ventures as a majority shareholder, whether they be innovative start-ups in emerging sectors of activity, or breakthrough models in more traditional sectors. Cléry then partners with one or more entrepreneurs to refine the project, confirm the potential, finance the first steps, and accompany the company in a long-term strategy.
